Lux soap appeared in the United States in 1925, elevated to the status of "beauty soap" by the addition of vegetable oils. In 1928, the J.Walter Thompson agency developed the advertising strategy that was to become the brand's signature:A campaign claimed that, of the 359 stars in Hollywood, 329 used Lux, the only notable exception being Greta Garbo. She never gave in to Lux's solicitations. For the chosen one, being chosen by Lux represented a consecration, a kind of advertising confirmation of her star status. After the war, to boost the brand, Lux sponsored a program on Radio Luxembourg: Festival Lux. / The soap Lux appeared in 1925, in the United States, raised to the status of "beauty soap" through the addition of vegetable oils.
