Rare brooch with transformation out of yellow gold 18K (750 thousandths) doubled of silver (800 thousandths) opened with reasons of foliage and arrows dressed with facetted white sapphires of which two, more important, and of small diamonds cut in pink, set claws. Work of the 1890s. Gross weight: 30.2 g. Size: 7.5 x 7 cm. Later transformations, traces of pewter. Missing needle and hinge, accidents. In a brown leather case with cream velvet and silk interior signed MARRET BEAUGRANT - VEVER where are hidden a three-pronged pin in gilt metal and a screwdriver in organic material and metal. Gustave Baugrand is associated with Paul Marret. In 1870, Gustave Baugrand dies during the siege of Paris and Ernest Vever buys his funds. Our jewel could be the result of this association.
